Arrival in Olbia and encounter with tour guide and off along the east coast to reach Orosei, a small seaside town with long fine, white sandy beaches, protected by charming calcareous mountains that reach down to the sea. Book into hotel, have lunch and go to the beach. Return to the hotel, dine and overnight stay.
Day 2
Breakfast in the hotel. Boat excursion to visit the caves of Bue Marino, a natural habitat for the “monaca” seals, animals that are now in extinction, lunch in a restaurant and the afternoon at the seaside. Return to hotel, dine and overnight stay.
Day 3
Breakfast in the hotel and departure for the Peninsula of Sinis, a visit to the ancient Phoenician-Punic-Roman town of Tharros, abandoned about 1000 D.C. The effect of the mistral wind has created a charming picture of sand dunes. Book into hotel and off to the beach. In the evening a nice walk along the Torre Grande seafront, return to hotel, dinner and overnight stay.
Day 4
Breakfast in hotel and transfer towards the Marina of Cabras with a visit to the lagoon and to the old Mullet fish market, from which the renowned “Bottarga” comes. Lunch in a restaurant and time for a swim. Return to the hotel in the evening for dinner and overnight stay.
Day 5
Breakfast in hotel. Departure towards Alghero. Book into hotel and visit the historical centre, still surrounded by towers and bastions from the Catalan era, and enclose Noble Palaces in the Aragon - Gothic style. Lunch in the hotel and time for the seaside. Return to hotel for dinner and overnight stay.
Day 6
Full board in hotel. An overland morning excursion to the Riveria del Corallo and the promontory of Capo Caccia, which holds the beautiful Caves of Nettuno, a natural, well lit Karst formation. The beauty of the coast and the calcareous cliffs are well worth noting. On the return trip a visit to the coral handicraft workshop is planned. Lunch in a restaurant and the afternoon dedicated to a swim on one of Alghero’s beaches. Return to hotel, dinner and overnight stay.
Day 7
Breakfast in hotel, and departure towards Castlesardo, an ancient town on the promontory overlooking the Gulf of the Asinara. A stopover for souvenir shopping, handicrafts, cakes, wines etc., and a walk through the streets of the historical centre of Genovese origin. Lunch in a restaurant and the afternoon for the seaside, then, on to Baia Sardinia. Book into hotel, dinner and overnight stay.
Day 8
After breakfast in the hotel, a day long excursion by boat, among the splendid islands of the Maddalenino Archipelago, with a pause for a swim in the beautifully transparent waters of the charming coves of Spargi and Santa Maria. The trip continues around Budelli and other islands. Lunch on board. Return to hotel in the late afternoon, dinner and overnight stay. (In the case of bad weather conditions: a visit to the Island of the Maddalena and the Garibaldino Museum on the Isle of Caprera shall take place, with lunch in the hotel and an afternoon visit to Santa Terese od Gallura).
Day 9
Breakfast in the hotel and departure for the nearby Costa Smeralda, stopping off at Porto Cervo and the renowned localities of Cala Volpe, Romazzino and Capriccioli. A tourist trip on the train around the bay to discover the villas of the VIP. Lunch in the hotel or in a restaurant. An afternoon visit to Porto Rotondo and transfer to Olbia in time for embarking procedures.
