Arrival in Olbia and encounter with tour guide, continuing on to Dorgali and a visit to the archeo-spereological site of the “Grotta di Ispinigoli” a spectacular place of Phoenician cult which has the highest stalactite - stalagmite in Europe (38 m), continuing on to reach the nearby seaside resort of Calagone, situated in the Gulf of Orosei, one time uncontested reign of the Nun (Monaca) Seals. Lunch in a restaurant and a brief excursion to the Dolomite spring water wells of Su Cologone, Oliena. Departure for Fonni, the highest town in Sardinia and on to book into the hotel, dinner and overnight stay.
Day 2
Breakfast in the hotel. Departure to Alghero with the morning dedicated to the renowned karst beauty enclosed in the “Grotte di Nettuno”, situated on the spectacular promontory of Capo Caccia. Access to the caves by foot. Lunch in hotel and an afternoon visit to the historical centre of Alghero: Cathedral of Santa Maria, Church and Cloister of San Francesco, Palazzo d’Albis, Theatre, Bastions etc. Time permitting, a stopover at the coral handicrafts workshop. Return to hotel, dinner and overnight stay.
Day 3
Breakfast in the hotel. Departure to Castelsardo, medieval town of Genovese origin, situated in the exact centre of the Golfo dell’Asinara. A visit to the Cathedral of Sant’Antonio Abate and the characteristic historical centre, stopping in panoramic places along the northern coast of Sardinia. Time for local handicraft shopping. A stopover for ‘photo taking at the Elephant Rock, lunch in a restaurant and on to the port of Santa Teresa of Gallura and embarkation for Corsica. Arrival in Boniface, after about an hours navigation, the picturesque capitol of Corsica, elected since time remembered and given it’s position on the calcareous promontory dropping down to the sea and with fabulous panoramas stretching to the nearby Sardinia, then following on to Porto Vecchio, booking into the hotel, dinner and overnight stay..
Day 4
Breakfast in hotel. Departure for Bastia with a visit to Corte, an ancient historical and cultural town in Corsica. Following along the coast a visit to Ile-rousse and Calvi, lunch in a restaurant on the way and arrival in Ajaccio in the afternoon, booking into the hotel and a visit later of Corso, the main town, where Napoleon was born. Return to the hotel, dinner and overnight stay.
Day 5
Breakfast in hotel. Departure for Boniface and a visit in the medieval town of Sartene and time/weather permitting, the possibility of a mini boat excursion to the Calanques, splendid spots along the Corsican coast, viewing the unique beauty of the coast from a different perspective. Also visible from the sea are the King of Aragona’s steps, wholly excavated from the cliffs in order to ward off eventual attacks on the Boniface Fortress. Lunch in a restaurant and return by boat to Santa Teresa in the afternoon.
Day 6
Breakfast in the hotel. Departure for Palau and, a short crossing over to the Island of the Maddalena
and to the Island of Caprera reached by a bridge, to visit the museum of Guiseppe Garibaldi and take a panoramic walk and discover the marvellous panoramas facing onto the smaller islands of the archipelago where the VIP spend their summers on the luxurious Costa Smeralda. A stopover in the town of Porto Cervo and a pleasing walk around the “Piazzetta delle Chiacchiere” well known for it’s boutiques then, continuing on for Cala di Volpe and Romazzino. Departure for Olbia in time for embarking procedures.
