Arrival in Cagliari and encounter with the tour guide. The morning dedicated to visiting the ancient towers of the city, San Pancrazio, the Elephant Tower and the Bastion of San Remi which gives a beautiful view of the Gulf of Cagliari. Booking into in hotel Poetto, along the coast road and lunch. An afternoon visit to the National Archaeological Sanctuary of Nostra Signora di Bonaria (Our Lady of Bonaria). Return to hotel, dinner and overnight stay.
Day 2
Breakfast in the hotel and departure to visit the Sulcitane Island of San Pietro and San Antioco, connected by a bridge going back to the Punic-Roman times. On arrival in San Antioco a visit is planned to the Thophet sacrificial area of Phoenician-Punic times, followed by a visit to the Parish named after the martyr and Christian Patron Saint, continuing on to Calasetta and after a 30 minute crossing the Island of San Pietro. Lunch in a restaurant and an afternoon visit to Carloforte, the only inhabited island. Return to hotel, dinner and overnight stay.
Day 3
Breakfast in the hotel and departure for Oristano. Book into hotel and have lunch. The afternoon is dedicated to visiting the peninsula of Sinis with the Phoenician-Punic City of Tharros, the Paleo- Christian Church of San Giovanni of Sinis and the hypogeum of San Salvatore, on return to the hotel, a short excursion to the land reclaimed town of Arborea.
Day 4
Breakfast in the hotel and departure for Villanovaforru, a visit to the Nuraghe complex of Genna Maria and the relative archaeological museum, before going on to Barumini and lunch in a resturant. An afternoon visit to the Nuraghe complex of “Su Nuraxi”, returning to the hotel in the evening, dinner and overnight stay.
Day 5
Breakfast in the hotel and departure towards Cagliari, arriving in Quartu S.Elena and visiting the house/museum of “Sa Dom’ ‘e Farra”, where a collection of antique farming equipment, that was in use in the Campidano agricultural area, is kept in custody. Then on to Maracalgonis, a small agricultural town in the lower Campidano, traditional lunch in a Campidano house and great entertainment by the local Folk Group, with wine tasting, cakes and liqueurs. Transfer in the afternoon to Cagliari in time to embark.
