Arrival in Cagliari and transfer by bus to an hotel on the seafront, book into the hotel and have lunch. An afternoon excursion in the city with a visit to the Towers of San Pancrazio and the Elephant and to the Bastion of San Remy, from where you get an admirable view of the Gulf of Cagliari. Continuing on to the National Archaeological Museum, the Roman Amphitheatre and the Basilica of Our Lady of Bonaria, return to hotel, dinner and overnight stay.
Day 2
After breakfast in the hotel, an excursion to the Nuraghe of Barumini, an imposing structure of 238 meters “Su Nuraxi”, lends significant expression to the megalithic Sardinian civilisation. Lunch in a restaurant and a stroll in the Giara di Gesturi, a calcareous high plain, and maybe see the small wild horses grazing. Return to the hotel, dinner and overnight stay.
Day 3
Breakfast in the hotel and an excursion to visit the ancient City of Nora, founded by the Phoenicians in 800 A.C., during the trip it is possible to see the Pink Flamingos that populate the pond of Santa Gilla. Return to hotel for lunch and departure towards Quartu S. Elena with a short stopover to visit the old Campidanese house/Museum “Sa dome farra” before going on to Maracalagonis, a small farming community and a traditional dinner in a colonial house, a Folk Group entertainment, wine tasting and cakes.
Day 4
Breakfast in hotel and departure for Mandas and an excursion on the tourist train, covering about 150 km., along the old Mandas-Arbatax railroad, lunch in a restaurant along the way and continuing afterwards by bus to Tortoli, booking into hotel, dinner and overnight stay.
Day 5
Breakfast in hotel and an excursion to Su Cologone, lunch in a restaurant in Monte Maccione and an afternoon visit to Calagonone and it’s beaches (weather permitting, a boat trip to the caves of Bue Marino, natural habitat for the “Monaca Seals”. Return to hotel, dinner and overnight stay.
Day 6
Breakfast in hotel and transfer to Cagliari in time for embarking procedures.
